Case Study: How We Paired Luxury Powder Bathroom Wallcoverings in Coconut Grove with Custom Marble Slabs
Designing a powder room in a luxury high-rise like Grovenor House (Coconut Grove, FL 33133) demands a bold balance between architectural drama and warm material luxury. Powder bathrooms are intimate spaces where homeowners love to make a striking visual statement for their guests. However, working with contrasting high-end materials—such as veined, book-matched stone slabs and metallic wall textures—presents significant installation challenges in tight, multi-angled floor plans.
When Mi Casa Interior Design spearheaded this stunning powder bathroom transformation, Design Consultant Manuela from our South Miami Showroom specified TWC0152. The goal was to seamlessly bridge the gap between heavy, polished marble walls and soft-touch textured surfaces, extending the rich atmosphere all the way across the ceiling.
Architectural & Site Analysis: Overcoming Precision Installation Challenges
Powder rooms with custom stone slabs leave zero margin for error. Examining the project media reveals how our installation team executed every detail:
Seamless Marble-to-Wall Transitions: The primary vanity wall features dramatic vertical-veined grey and cream marble slabs that wrap into an integrated stone basin and ledge. Pattern TWC0152 meets this polished edge cleanly without bulky trim or wide gaps, creating a flawless material junction.
Full-Fifth-Wall Wrap (Ceiling Application): Rather than stopping at the crown line, the team wrapped TWC0152 continuously onto the ceiling. This wraps the room in tone-on-tone color, softening harsh recessed downlights and ambient modern brass tube pendants.
Intricate Recessed Nook Framing: The adjacent feature wall contains a custom built-in dual-shelf wall niche. Papering inside tight 90-degree internal cutouts and clean outer corners requires precise hand-cutting to ensure no bubbling, peeling, or seam lifting occurs around the recessed edges.
The Material Solution: Pattern TWC0152
Manuela selected TWC0152, a luxurious horizontal faux-grasscloth wallcovering featuring a subtle metallic weave and a deeply textured slate/sage-grey finish.

Why TWC0152 Transformed This Space:
Textural Balance: The fine horizontal lines of TWC0152 counter the dramatic, vertical organic veining of the marble, establishing visual equilibrium.
Light Diffusion: Under warm accent illumination—like the brass pendant light and organic asymmetrical gold mirror—the faint metallic sheen within TWC0152 catches subtle highlights, creating a warm, moody glow.
Elevated Enclosure: Extending the wallcovering to the ceiling eliminates stark white overhead surfaces, giving the room a cohesive, jewel-box feel.
The Final Transformation
By uniting MiCasa Interiors’ visionary stone design with our premium material selection and craftsmanship, this powder room at The Grovenor stands as a benchmark for high-end residential design in Coconut Grove.
