Crafting a Luminous, Texture-Rich Bedroom Sanctuary in Boca Raton

In the exclusive private golf community of St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, a homeowner sought to transform a standard bedroom alcove into a highly functional, fashion-forward dressing area. The requirement was to balance glamour with modern cleanliness, creating a space that felt intimate yet open.

Our expert Design Consultant, Ada, worked closely with the project team out of our Boca Raton Showroom in Palm Beach County to curate a tactile and visual solution from the Guimar Urbina Home Collection.

The Challenge: Adding Depth and Warmth to a Hard-Line Space

The initial space, designed for a modern aesthetic, risked feeling stark due to its clean lines, large mirror surface, and hard finishes. The client desired a "softer," more inviting atmosphere for their morning and evening routines without sacrificing the minimal, clean look. The primary design challenge was introducing warmth, luxury, and visual softness into a high-functioning vanity area.

The Solution: Layering the Guimar Urbina Home Collection

We achieved the perfect equilibrium by strategically layering textile elements—specifically wallpapers and custom drapery—as tactile "foundations" for the floating vanity.

1. Wallcoverings for Architectural Texture (Guimar Urbina Home Collection): As seen in the detailed image of the final installation, the walls are wrapped in a sophisticated, linear-textured wallpaper (Guimar Urbina Home Collection) in a warm greige tone.

  • Deep Analysis: This texture catches the light dramatically, serving as a subtle backdrop to the massive, LED-lit mirror. Unlike flat paint, this wallpaper provides immediate visual warmth and depth, mitigating any "clinical" feel from the lighting. The horizontal grain complements the light wood flooring while adding vertical interest.

2. Drapery for Fluid Movement and Light Diffusion: The architectural lines of the large window are softened by full-height, sheer white drapery from the Guimar Urbina Home Collection.

  • Deep Analysis: These curtains are essential for light control and privacy in a St. Andrews Country Club setting. Visually, they act as a large-scale, fluid textile "plane," counterbalancing the heavy, dark wood floating vanity. The soft folds diffuse natural daylight, enhancing the overall glow from the integrated shelving lights.

The Luminous Result

The final design is a masterpiece of light and shadow, featuring an oversized, edge-lit mirror reflection that highlights custom geometric pendant lights and the texture of the wallcovering. Integrated strip lighting in the dark wood shelf unit showcases curated decor. The composition is grounded by a stunning, sculptural white upholstered cylindrical vanity stool. By focusing on superior textile selection—the wallpaper and drapery—Ada created a space that is both visually stunning and physically comforting.
