Case Study: How We Achieved Seamless Interior Flow at Oceanside at Fisher Island Using Wallcoverings
Nestled within the exclusive enclave of Fisher Island, FL (33109), the residences at Oceanside demand elevated craftsmanship that honors the island's resort-style tranquility. In luxury condo layouts, transitioning seamlessly from a long residential entry hallway into an intimate bedroom suite requires carefully curated surface treatments that unify different lighting zones and millwork tones.
For this oceanfront project, Design Consultant Carlos from our Miami Design District Showroom collaborated alongside the interior design team at Guimar Urbina Interiors. By specifying wallcovering pattern DYW103403, Carlos and Guimar Urbina Interiors demonstrated how applying luxury bedroom wallcoverings on Fisher Island establishes visual warmth, hides subtle lighting variances, and connects open passageways to private suite sanctuaries.
Deep Visual Analysis & Design Challenges
Examining the project photography and walkthrough video reveals several complex design parameters navigated across the bedroom and hallway zones:
Dark Wood Casing & Door Transitions: The residence highlights rich, dark mahogany/walnut door frames, transom header soffits, and dark window mullions. The wall treatment needed to soften the high contrast between these dark millwork structures and the light marble flooring without feeling washed out.
Intricate Spatial Returns & Utility Hardware: As seen in the hallway footage, the wallcovering wraps around 90-degree outer corners, narrow door jambs, thermostat controls, recessed speakers, and fire alarm sensors—demanding surgical trimming and pattern matching.
Layered Architectural Lighting: The bedroom suite combines indirect warm LED tray ceiling lighting, direct downlights, floor-to-ceiling mirrored panels, and large french doors leading to a terrace (showcasing an outdoor scalloped wall feature). The wall covering needed a non-reflective, soft linear texture to absorb light gracefully from every angle.
The Surface Solution: Pattern DYW103403
Carlos and Guimar Urbina Interiors selected DYW103403, an organic, cream-and-linen textured wallcovering featuring ultra-fine vertical pin-striations and a subtle pearlescent shimmer.

Why DYW103403 Excelled in This Space:
Vertical Height Elevation: The fine vertical striations draw the eye upward toward the warm illuminated ceiling tray, accentuating the high ceiling clearance.
Harmonizing Millwork and Flooring: The warm cream tone acts as a smooth bridge between the deep mahogany door frames and the off-white marble/hardwood floor surfaces.
Continuous Spatial Flow: Extending DYW103403 from the entry hallway straight through the doorway into the master bedroom eliminated visual breaks, creating a cohesive luxury suite layout.
The Transformation
The collaboration between Guimar Urbina Interiors and our team resulted in a peaceful, tailored environment fitting for Fisher Island's premier oceanfront living. Pattern DYW103403 brings tactile softness to structural hallway angles while providing a tranquil, hotel-suite atmosphere in the bedroom.
