A bedroom should be more than just a place to sleep; it should be a curated retreat. For this project located in the modern Lotus Edge community in Boca Raton, the goal was to take a stark, high-ceilinged room and transform it into a sophisticated master suite.
Collaborating with our expert Design Consultant Ada from the Boca Raton Showroom in Palm Beach County, and the visionary team at Guimar Urbina Interiors, we focused on creating a focal point that anchored the entire room. The solution was the strategic application of multi-dimensional wallcoverings from the Guimar Urbina Home Collection.
The Challenge: Softening Architectural Hard Lines in a Modern New Build at this Lotus Edge Bedroom
The homes in Lotus are celebrated for their ultra-modern, clean architecture. However, this specific bedroom faced a common design hurdle:
The "Boxy" Feel: Large white walls and cold marble flooring created a beautiful but "echoey" visual environment.
Lack of a Focal Point: Without a designated "headboard wall," the bed felt unanchored between the two dark, oversized wooden doors.
The Goal: The client wanted to introduce multi-dimensional wallcoverings that would add warmth and texture without clashing with the home’s minimalist, contemporary DNA.
The Solution: Multi-Dimensional Wallcoverings from the Guimar Urbina Home Collection
To solve the lack of depth, Ada specified a premium textured wallpaper that serves as a soft, architectural bridge between the dark wood doors and the light floors.
1. Deep Analysis: Texture and Tone The image reveals a mid-tone grey wallcovering with a subtle, stone-like patina. Unlike flat paint, these multi-dimensional wallcoverings react to the Lotus Edge bedroom’s lighting. Notice how the glow from the bedside lamps catches the grain of the wallpaper, creating a soft gradient that makes the wall appear to recede, effectively making the room feel deeper and more luxurious.
2. Balancing the Color Palette By choosing a neutral grey texture, we created a "middle ground." This allows the dark espresso doors to pop as architectural frames, while the tufted white headboard stands out in sharp, clean relief. The wallpaper acts as the "glue" that holds the high-contrast elements together.
3. Enhancing the Textile Narrative The multi-dimensional wallcoverings set the stage for the rest of the room’s textiles. The soft grey of the wall perfectly complements the quilted duvet and the deep indigo accents in the area rug and throw pillows, creating a cohesive, multi-layered sensory experience.
The Result: A Refined, Anchored Retreat
By moving away from standard paint and embracing the depth of our multi-dimensional wallcoverings, this Lotus residence now features a bedroom that feels intentionally designed. The space is no longer just a room with furniture; it is a balanced, high-end sanctuary that reflects the luxury of the Boca Raton lifestyle.
